Hyacinth Carpio, APRN

Hyacinth Carpio is an ANCC board-certified and fully licensed Psychiatric mental health nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from Saint Louis University. Before becoming a specialized NP, she was a registered nurse for twelve years in psychiatry, medical-surgical, nephrology, and post-anesthesia care. Native to Alabama, she was raised with three brothers in a close community of friends while participating in theatre, piano, creative writing, and tennis. After achieving a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) at the University of Alabama in Huntsville she lived and worked as a registered nurse throughout the United States (Nashville, Tennessee; Nome, Alaska; Saint Louis, Missouri; Brattleboro, Vermont; Keene, New Hampshire; Boulder & Denver Colorado).

Ellis’ professional focus is empathetic client-centred care with evidence-based psychiatric interventions. She’s interested in people’s life stories and honours everyone’s unique culture, complex personality, and diverse abilities. Her therapeutic goal is for clients to achieve symptom remission as they journey towards balanced mental health.

Ellis is also an artist with lifelong hobbies of painting, design, music, writing, yoga, and reading. She currently resides in the beautiful Tennessee Valley with her husband and cuddly Doberman.
